Happy National Nurses Week!

National University - Fresno Campus kicked off National Nurses Week with a little donut and coffee social for their future nurses.   The students came together and got to know each other, eat some sweet treats, and snatch up some awesome NU swag.   How awesome are those NU tumblers? National University - Rancho Bernardo Campus celebrated Nurses Week by getting together, eating pizza, playing nurse trivia, and winning small gifts!  Over 100 students joined in on the fun and were able to partake in the pizza that was generously donated by Little Cesar's. Did you know….. National Nurses Week begins every year on May 6 th and end on May 12 th , Florence Nightingale ’s birthday. As of 1998, May 8 th was designated as National Student Nurses Day. Celebrating Public Health!

The School of Health and Human Services celebrated Public Health Month by hosting a Public Health Fair at the Spectrum Campus on April 27 th .   Student’s had the opportunity to get CPR certified, talk to and network with local vendors and organizations, fine tune their resumes, and get moving with a public health walk that explored the area surrounding the Spectrum campus and library. 25 students were able to participate a free CPR certification side by side with the Dean of the School of Health and Human Services, Gloria McNeill.   No pressure.   Well, actually, enough pressure to get the heart pumping again, am I right?   The CPR certification was offered by National University’s Division of Extended Learning .   If you are interested in becoming CPR certified or if you need to get re-certified and you are local to the San Diego area, email Cody Rogers, here .
