The SHHS attends the Interprofessional Education Institute IPEC in Washington DC!

The start of the summer was a busy time for SHHS faculty.  All three departments were represented at the prestigious Interprofessional Education Institute  (IPEC) held May 4-7, 2014 at the Hyatt Dulles in Herndon, VA. The team from the SHHS worked on a collaborative project - the National University Nurse-Managed Clinic (NUNMC).  The NUNMC Project proposes to shift the paradigm for the provision of healthcare services by taking the interprofessional healthcare team directly to the community, to deliver comprehensive primary care services onsite at designated locations throughout an underserved neighborhood.  A school-wide team from National University’s SHHS was selected this year to attend the conference.  Nursing was represented by Alice Noquez , Community Health was represented by Joann Harper , and Health Sciences was represented by Irvin Kluth and Michael Myers .  The team (named the “National Nuggets”) was led by Dean Gloria McNeal and worked with IPEC officials over three d
