NU NCLEX Pass Rates Increase

The most recent report of the NCLEX pass rates for Nati o nal University shows an increase from previous years.  Our pass rate for fi r st time takers of the NCLEX e xam ( BS level) rose to 93.06%.  This is above the national average of 87.25 % for the NCLEX exam . TED Faculty member Patricia Dickenson leads the SHHS Tech Talk for January!

This week NU’s Dr. Patricia Dickenson from our San Jose campus gave a talk on “Conversations in the Cloud”.  Patricia is a Lead Faculty member in Teacher Education at the San Jose Academic Center and shared some teaching tech tips she uses in her classes using Google hangout and Voice thread.  Plus Dr. Myers shared some more “New and Now” tech tips on using the cloud for your bibliography.   The day ended with a hands on session where faculty created their own Google “hangout” and voice threads for their classes. Health Sciences faculty member represents the SHHS at HICE 2013

Associate Professor of Health Sciences Dr. Michael Myers joined several NU faculty at the 11th Annual Hawaii International Conference on Education ( HICE ) held from January 6th to January 9th, 2013 at the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Honolulu, Hawaii. Dr. Scott Higgins - SHHS Interim Dean

Dr. Scott Higgins joined us a s Inter im Dean, School of Health and Human Services, and will serve through June 30, 2013.  Dr. Higgins recently retired from W estern Carolina University , where he held positions as D ean of the Gr aduate School and Chief Research Officer , program director of several graduate and undergraduate he alth sciences programs, and pro fessor.  Hi s care er includes positions as Ass ociate Professor, Respiratory Ther apy a t the Medical University of Sou th Carolina and as Director and Instructor in the Respiratory Therapy Program at Valencia C ommunity College in F lorida. Dr. Higgins earned his Bachelor of Science, Respiratory Therapy from Florida Technological University (now University of Central Florida), his M.S. in Allied Health Science Administration from Indiana University and his Ed.D Higher Education Administration with a concentration in Health Care Administration from the University of South Carolina.
