In this large population-based sample of young US veterans recently separated from military service, health-related quality of life (HRQL) was not significantly different among rural and urban residents in the adjusted analyses and deployment experience did not alter the association between the outcome and rural or urban residence. These results suggest that rural status is not independently associated with HRQL among recent U.S. veterans.

2018 Planetree Conference Featured SHHS Faculty, Staff & Students!

Dozens of faculty, students and staff presented their latest person-centered healthcare research at the 2018 Planetree Conference in Boston last month. The Planetree organization was founded 40 years ago as a patient-centered care revolution when Angie Thieriot demanded on behalf of all patients that healthcare organizations meet individuals’ human need for respect, control and warm and supportive care. National University was front and center with a booth at the conference and several presentations and posters. The School of Health and Services ( SHHS ) showcased its programs as the world’s only Planetree certified University ! SHHS students assisted with the conference sessions and presented posters on Person Centered and student driven student committees .
