Exciting News From Physician Partners

In April, SHHS became a member of Physician Partners VIP Health Connect, an organization formed to build a community of physicians and related organizations promoting standards of excellence for high quality, cost-effective healthcare. VIP Health Connect currently consists of approximately 600 San Diego physicians and related organizations.

Health Science Faculty Member is a Finalist at the 2017 Athena Pinnacle Awards!

Health Sciences Clinical Assistant Professor Linda Travis Macomber was honored on May 4th by Athena, a San Diego-based business organization championing women executives and rising managers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).  Athena's Pinnacle Awards are held each year in the spring to recognize extraordinary individuals and organizations who have shown dedication to in promoting Athena's mission of fostering the personal and professional growth of women through mentoring, education, recognition, and leadership training. 2018 Planetree Conference Featured SHHS Faculty, Staff & Students!

Dozens of faculty, students and staff presented their latest person-centered healthcare research at the 2018 Planetree Conference in Boston last month. The Planetree organization was founded 40 years ago as a patient-centered care revolution when Angie Thieriot demanded on behalf of all patients that healthcare organizations meet individuals’ human need for respect, control and warm and supportive care. National University was front and center with a booth at the conference and several presentations and posters. The School of Health and Services ( SHHS ) showcased its programs as the world’s only Planetree certified University ! SHHS students assisted with the conference sessions and presented posters on Person Centered and student driven student committees .
